Enterprise Information Server
by Libra Systems
The Enterprise Information Server (EIS) acts as an on-line gateway between the plants
and the office. It contains a copy of the plant files (database), a history of transactions
from the plants, and current operational data. It is completely Microsoft compatible and can
reside on an office network. Any changes made, by the office, to the plant database are
automatically queued and sent to the plant computers. All transactions are automatically retrieved
from the plants and buffered for accounting use. Information from the transactions is stored
to facilitate management analysis of current historical data. Current operational data from
the plants is made available to facilitate logistics management.
